There seems to be an elevated interest in CCC.com domains  lately from domain resellers and investors, especially the LLN.com and LNN.com types.  However most people still take the 3character.com price guide into account, not realizing how far those values are from the market reality, so I’ve compiled a list of ALL reported CCC.com domain sales on auctions since the beginning of 2010.  The list contains 101 domain sales, with sales prices ranging from $76 to $4000. At Godaddy prices are usually considerably lower than on Sedo.

NLN.com and LNL.com type of domains are the worst prices wise.  ‘0’ is the worst digit, while ‘1’ is the best – the exception is when 0 created a number, e.g. d40, 50x, v10 etc. Names with repeating digits or letters usually fetch significantly higher amounts.Letter combos with special meanings or acronyms can fetch surprisingly high prices on Sedo, take a look at 0fx.com below (fx is the common acronym for forex).

The real minimum wholesale market prices are like this:

Several expired CCC.com domains sell on Godaddy auctions almost every week, while Sedo auctions are naturally more random. Some also sell at snapnames and namejet.

  1. you are not accounting for a lot of higher sales that take place at snapnames and namejet. Your data is flawed.

  2. 3ez.com $1,511 Namejet

    JS9.com $410 Namejet

    6eu.com $258 Namejet

    ji4.com $300 Namejet

    jn4.com $300 Namejet

    jy4.com $310 Namejet

    Just to name a few. There are hundreds if you go back to your starting date of January.

    Your data should only reflect the last 3 months though, since that tells you the trend. Anything after 3 months is just noise & old data.

    You are also missing a lot of the mid to high end sales from SEDO as well.

    If you are going to post sales at least post ALL sales from each venue instead of taking a handful and saying the 3Character.com is not correct.

    Know the facts before calling someone out.

  3. @Prosper: I’m glad to see you’re taking an active interest in the CCC.com marketplace and follow the prices closely, also thanks for your comments, but let me clarify a few things here:

    1. 3Character.com lists the Minimum Wholesale Prices, so if there are many sales for quite below those prices than obviously it’s incorrect regardless of the venues. Again this post is about the min prices, not average, or highest.

    CCC.com prices are quite volatile in auctions and may vary significantly based on many parameters. But the main point is if people can buy CCC.com domains cheaper at GoDaddy why would they pay 2 times more in other places? So this data is enough to shed some light on the low side of the market.

    And if you claim that 3character.com guide values are correct I’d like to see you buy some ugly CCC.com at those prices..

    2. Prices didn’t change much since the beginning of the year, so taking a 3 months window has no serious effect on the values. Besides a problem with taking only the last 3 months is that it was summer and on summer sales are usually slow and may fetch lower prices, so the data reflects 8 months to cover for that.

  4. hi Michael – there is no way to keep track of all sales, unfortunately. The current list is a good indicator, however, of range. NameJet is also known to be a “dumping” place for domains prior to expiration; by creating artificial interest many times prices are raised.

  5. @Acro, didn’t quite follow your last sentence, could you expand on what you mean there? Thanks

    @Internet Marketing Links, not bad.

  6. I4G.com – ask XXXX

    i4G = internet fourth generation

    i4G = iPhone4G, iPad4G, iPod4G etc…

    i = I’m, internet, income, insurance, investment, incubator, etc…

    4 = four = for

    g = generation, globe, gold, girl, growth, etc…

    Thx
