Who Wants to Buy a PR9 Site?

Posted in Development, For sale on October 8th, 2008 by Michael – 1 Comment

And now you can do it on Sitepoint premium marketplace there is one for sale.

PR6 sites are seen for sale very rarely and PR7 even less than that. But here is a real PR9 site! With this SEO weight you can rank in google for pretty much anything with limited amount of content and work put into it.

The sales thread also reports some $4,5K monthly revenues, but you can probably get more by just selling a few links on it.

This little quote at the start of the sales thread reveals a bit about the buyer interest: read more »

Possible First Reported $xxx, xxx idn Sale

Posted in IDNs, News on August 7th, 2008 by Michael – 4 Comments

According to this thread on dnf and this one in idnforums there might have been a $xxx, xxx sale for an idn domain.

The domain was not publicly disclosed, however it is a Russian term. Alexa is 0, so there is probably not much traffic.

Other posts indicate thatĀ  there were other previous $xxx, xxx sales and the idnĀ  market is simply not transparent enough, however several investors are spending big bucks on names they think will be much more in the years to come.

From idnforums:

I recently bought 1 idn for xxx,xxx
Some may say it is way over priced if you are comparing it to the current ‘market’ that is practically isn’t born yet but i prefer to pay more now then getting to the point where it just wont be for sale.

The $xxx, xxx sale has been confirmed as a Russian IDN , the $x,xxx, xxx “sale” still waiting for further info.
Also confirmed a Chinese seller sold a .cn for a good $xx,xxx to a business in China.

IDN domains are a highly controversial market. Many domainers believe it’s a waste of money while others predict it to take off big time. What’s your take on that?

Mike Dammann interviews Rick Schwartz

Posted in Blogs, Interviews on April 9th, 2008 by Michael – Be the first to comment

A recent interview with Rick Schwartz posted over at Search Feature:

Mike Dammann: How did you get the idea to start the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Domain Conference and Expos and how close are you to the search engine industry?

Rick Schwartz: It started as a 12 person get together at my home. When 35 wanted to come I hooked up with my Attorney, Howard Neu, and decided we needed a venue other than my house and an agenda of activities and discussions. When 135 signed up we got THRUST into the convention business. 6 months later we held our second TRAFFIC show in Las Vegas and this time 235 showed up. By the time we have another show in Florida a few months later, we were 350 strong. So it was never planned, it was needed and we just took the ball and ran with it.

After 10 shows we have established ourselves as the key event in the space and thousands of domainers and investors have come to one show or another.

As for the search industry, it is an industry having more and more in common with domain owners. In our show in May in Orlando we will have at least one SEO panel and in future conferences even more as our channels overlap more and more. read more »

You’ll get to see domaining through the eyes of various people with different domain portfolios and experiences, as well life backgrounds. An unbiased and straight forward approach to domaining by a wide range of domain investors from the newcomers to experienced professionals.

I received several inquires lately from people interested in being interviewed and
some interviews are being prepared now. If you are reading this and you are interested in getting interviewed feel free to contact me by pming on DNforum or Namepros (My username: Michael_Goldman), or by sending an email to ‘contact’ at this domain.

stay tuned for more updates and the interviews :)

Premium NNNNN.com’s – 1471 domains left

Posted in Buyouts, Lists, NNNNN.com on February 9th, 2008 by Michael – 4 Comments

In total there are about 17.5K NNNNN.com domains left out of 100K. Couple thousands of them were registered in last several days by a few investors.

Numeric domains represent one of the safest and most profitable investments in the market currently due to their limited quantity, compared to letter domains and many possible meanings in different cultures and countries: phone numbers, zip codes, lucky numbers, dialing codes, license plates etc.

Not all digits are equal, some digits are considered better than other, according to 3character.com price guide:

1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 are considered premium numbers. Other lesser high quality numbers include: 4 and 6. Lower quality numbers include the number 0. 3

Recent scan of all premium NNNNN.com’s, consisting only digits: 1,2,3,5,7,9 shows
that 1471 domains are available out of 7,776.

The whole list is here

Few random names from the list:

I can’t believe you would stoop to such lows with this website. Rick has done so much for this industry, you should be thankful he’s so generous.

You should add memberships to read this blog. Gold members get to read 10 words, Silver members get to read 50 words, Exclusive members get to read 100 words. Then you just promise them next week they get to read 200 words (but they don’t) and the money just keeps coming! Seriously, it works. With my site, I was able to rent 10 goats last week on membership fees alone! read more »
