Marchex reports: $37 Million for The Fourth Quarter of 2007

Fourth Quarter 2007 Consolidated Financial Results:

  • Revenue was $37.0 million for the fourth quarter of 2007, compared to $32.6 million for the same period of 2006.
  • GAAP net loss applicable to common stockholders was $774,000 for the fourth quarter of 2007 or $0.02 loss per diluted share. This compares to GAAP net income applicable to common stockholders of $5.0 million or $0.01 loss per diluted share for the same period of 2006. The GAAP diluted EPS calculation in 2006 excludes the effect of the non-cash non-recurring discount on preferred stock redemption of $5.8 million, net of dividends on the redeemed preferred shares of $197,000. The fourth quarter 2007 results included non-cash stock-based compensation expense recorded under the fair value method of $2.1 million, compared to non-cash stock-based compensation expense of $2.6 million for the same period in 2006. Yahoo To Stop Arbitrage

Yahoo will stop allowing arbitrage as of this Friday, will affect other major companies as well.

In a major move sure to have ramifications across the online advertising industry, Yahoo (YHOO) has told its advertising partners that it will no longer accept “arbitraged” traffic as of this Friday. Here’s a look at what this means for domainers and even the revenue of big online advertising companies.

That will be a hard blow to many “domainers” who only had a short term strategy of buy and selling clicks. Few months ago several threads poped up in DNF where people claimed to make over $1-2K/day on arbitrage and parked.com officially confirmed that they allow it. But now, as it was expected, the door has closed.
