Bankrate is in the business of buying other businesses. Yes, creditcardguide was ranked well but after it was sold, it’s ranking dropped.

$34 million for a known SEO black hatter, creditcardguide.com? OMG. Just after they bought it, itt’s now dropped in rankings from the top to …. I am not sure. I don’t have a diver sertificat good enough to qualify for that deep a dive.

I don’t know about Bankaholic, but I’m gonna spend the next six months in my underwear in front of a computer, buying links. If they do that little work to check anyone out, I’m gonna be a millionare!

I’m estimating the guy who sold creditcardguide.com probably made $4 mil a year on that site, so depends on how you look at it whether or not it was like winning the lottery for him. He already had an excellent source of income from the site, but I think I’d cash out too if BankRate offered me that much. He was likely already a millionaire just from promoting credit cards alone.
